Govind Pillai joins other local dancers on stage in Sydney at Confluence Festival of India in Australia 2016's Gala Event.

The Gala Event commemorates the Festival's inauguration at The Sydney Opera House with an exciting and unique coming together of Australian and Indian performing art forms showcasing their distinct movements, rhythms and inherent similarities.

Sufi gospel music and aboriginal tunes interlace with Jazz rhythms and classical and folk dances exhilarate as their heady beats and energetic leaps culminate in a stimulating climax.

It will be a unique opportunity to see a fusion performance weaving together music and dance from India and Australia. The collaboration focuses on highlighting the unique aspects of each distinct genre while using the universality of the medium of dance and music to create a seamless performance.
